Tagged: random, random listing
Hi,
I don’t see a short code that does this but I’m Wondering if it’s possible to display a single random listing?
Thanks!
Hi,
Yes, this options does exist. Its explained in our shortcode documentation
– https://www.beprosoftware.com/documentation/bepro-listings-shortcodes/
In addition, the option is available in the shortcode builder. Simply click the BePro logo/button above your tinymce editor when editing pages or posts. The shortcode builder explains the shortcodes and as the name suggests, it provides several options which help you to create the shortcodes.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I had actually seen the shortcode documentation and the shortcode builder. I see there’s an option to “randomize” the order that listings appear, but not to display a single random entry. I don’t see any other reference to “random” in the shortcodes so perhaps I’m missing what you’re referring to.
I guess I could set, in the settings the default # of listings to be 1 and then display a list using a shortcake using the randomize shortcode so theoretically just one random listing will appear. That feels like a workaround to just displaying a random listing…also it would mean that for the rest of the directory where categories are viewed in full that just one listing would appear because of the general setting.
Is there an option I’m missing in the shortcode documentation or shortcode builder to just display a single random listing?
